Series XI News – Krysis Ratings

11345836-1904425152248881It is that time of the week for us to pore over the ratings. And it was a good showing for the world’s biggest egotist and his scouse chum. José Mourinho and Wayne Rooney achieved 891,000 viewers on BT Sport 2 last night as Manchester United played in the Europa League. But that isn’t what you are here for, you want to know how Rimmer and Lister got on instead.

Krysis came through in the overnight ratings with a figure of 570,000 viewers across Dave and Dave Ja Vu. Just a gnat’s wing down on last week. Not only did Red Dwarf have to compete with BBC One’s The Apprentice, BBC Two’s The Fall and Channel Four’s Hunted but it also had to compete with Europa League football. The fact that it was only down 15,000 viewers is very good news.

Not so good news for Dave’s heavily promoted new sci-fi comedy Zapped which only managed to achieve 290,000 viewers including Dave and Dave Ja Vu, down 60,000 on last week and is now rating similar to how Red Dwarf repeats were performing when following new episodes of Red Dwarf this series.

The consolidated figure for Give & Take on Dave and Dave Ja Vu is slightly down on Twentica and Samsara but is still comfortably over the one million viewers mark with 1,144,000 viewers. This figure includes people who watched on the night, people who recorded and watched later in the week and people who watched on Sky On Demand in the seven days after the first broadcast.

The UKTV Play figures have also been made available by the BARB. The service usually achieved around 5000 streams for new programming and below 1000 for older programming. Red Dwarf XI’s figures on UKTV Play to date as as per below:

Episode First Online First Week Second Week Third Week Fourth Week Total
Twentica 15/09/2016 20,505 20,574 9,635 5,607 56,321
Samsara 23/09/2016 16,860 18,964 8,199 44,023
Give and Take 30/09/2016 16,462 17,672 34,134
Officer Rimmer 07/10/2016 17,327 17,327

Bear in mind that each “First Week” actually only includes four days of being available for Twentica and three days for Samsara, Give & Take and Officer Rimmer.

Another strong consolidated figure and the show is continuing to perform well on UKTV Play.
