In this edition of our continuing celebration of Series IV’s 25th anniversary, we talk about DNA for our latest commentary. Body horror, a monster of the week and an ending that brings in a film parody. All elements of the show that will seem familiar from other episodes, and all elements that are on display here. Yet this doesn’t stop the episode from being memorable with a truly meaty part for Robert Llewellyn to get his hands on, whether you intend to take that euphemistically or not.
Would this episode for well as a series closer as way originally intended? How does the direction manage to make the curry monster more believable that Doctor Who monsters of a few years prior? And could Robert’s clothes be reused by the host for the new Crystal Maze in London?
All these silver ticker questions and more will be examined as Alex, James and Andrew start the fans before turning them off again as they create too much noise in the background while they talk about this monster-of-the-week episode.
