Yes, we said there wouldn’t be a news roundup this week, but as there was a reasonable amount to cover we decided to go back on our plans and put one out after all. We may well take a break next week instead because of this, but for now, here is a roundup of all of the week’s Red Dwarf related news.
- 2012: A Year In Dwarf
The Official Site has published two articles on covering the Red Dwarf goings on of the year in a 2012 retrospective. With the last 4 episodes of Series X filming in January and the series going out in October it has obviously been a fairly busy year in the world of Red Dwarf. That of course is before you even get into the DVD release, the sad death of Peter Wragg, the announcement of next year’s Dimension Jump and much the many other bits of activity that occurred throughout the year.
Part one of the retrospective covers January through to June and part two covers the second half of the year. Both parts are well worth a read a provide a nice opportunity to look back over what has been a pretty exciting time to be a Red Dwarf fan.
- Dwarfcasts: Psirens
Ganymede & Titan have uploaded a Christmas edition (as denoted by the use of sleigh bells,) of their Dwarfcast episode commentaries, this time covering Psirens from Series VI. Ian Cappsy, John, Tanya and Danny look over the episode and afterwards there is a discussion of their plans for the next year. You can find it here or you can subscribe via iTunes.
- The Red Dwarf Introcast: Christmas Special
A new episode of The Red Dwarf Introcast has been uploaded, and this episode is a Christmas special. Back in October, they held a poll for listeners to pick on a Red Dwarf related show to be discussed, which included Ghostwatch, Bottom, The Brittas Empire and Maid Marian & Her Merry Men. The winner was Bottom and as such this episode sees Heath, Angela, Shane and Russ from the Hard Reset podcast review ‘Parade’ from series 2, featuring guest actor Robert Llewelyn.
The episode is available to download and you can find it on the podcast’s website and is also available on iTunes.
