News Roundup (23/12/12)

  • Merry Christmas

xmasWith the Christmas season upon us and news slowing down, we are intending to  have a short break until the new year when the festivities are over. So to tie things up for the end of the year we thought we’d give you a quick reminder of what seasonal red Dwarf things there are to enjoy over the holiday. If you’ve never seen it, the first part of the mobisode ‘Red Christmas’ is available to view on YouTube and there is a piece about it to read on Ganymede & Titan. While on the topic of animations, there is also the Red Dwarf Animated fan project’s Christmas special, Mistletoe & Whine; a two hander between Rimmer and Lister with a strong melancholy air to it that is well worth a watch. You can view part 1 here and part 2 here. Finally, if you didn’t see it in previous weeks then we also have model man Bill Pearson’s script, concept drawings, model shots and pitch video for his proposal for a Red Dwarf Christmas special 12 years ago. You can find all of the collated materials relating to the project in our features section here.

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and we’d like to thank you all for visiting the site and listening to The Garbage Podcast in our first year of running this site.

  • The Red Dwarf Introcast: White Hole

rdpodcastlogosizedA new episode of The Red Dwarf Introcast. This episode sees Heath, Angela and Shane are joined by Alex from this site to discuss and review White Hole. Laugh as he slurs his speech after surgery due to being tongue tied and get basic facts wrong! Yes, he calls Grant Naylor’s early radio series Wrinklies instead of it’s correct title of Wrinkles. The fool! There are doubtless more mistakes throughout, and if you want to point them out then send your answers on a postcard and sent to Ganymede & Titan to laugh at.

The episode is available to download and you can find it on the podcast’s website and is also available on iTunes.
